San Vendemiano (Treviso), 12 June 2025 – Larissa Iapichino and Pablo Pichardo: two great names for the 5th ATL-Etica International Meeting that on Tuesday 17 June, starting at 6 pm (free admission), will bring the champions of athletics on the catwalk at the municipal stadium of San Vendemiano (Treviso). Larissa Iapichino will be the testimonial of the event. The European indoor champion, an iconic face of a young and successful Italian athletics team, began the outdoor season on May 31, in Palermo, overcoming seven meters (7.06) for the first time, the barrier of excellence in the women’s long jump.
On Sunday June 15, the twenty-two-year-old from Fiamme Oro, fourth last year at the Paris Olympics and second at the European Championships in Rome, will compete in the Stockholm leg of the Wanda Diamond League. And two days later, on Tuesday, she will be in San Vendemiano, even if not as an athlete, to receive the embrace of the fans and renew her friendship with ATL-Etica Impresa Sociale, the company organizing the meeting combined with the 6th Memorial Professor Ivo Merlo and the 4th National Meeting of Youth Talent Memorial Francesco De Coppi.
On Tuesday in San Vendemiano, Pablo Pichardo, a triple jump champion, will be on the platform, a member of ATL-Etica Impresa Sociale from this season. Thirty-one years old, Cuban naturalized Portuguese, Pichardo has a record of 18.08 which represents the sixth world performance of all time. He was Olympic champion in Tokyo in 2021 and silver last year in Paris. In his palmarés he also boasts a world title (Eugene 2022) and two world silvers (Moscow 2013 and Beijing 2015);
a silver (Belgrade 2022) and a bronze (Sopot 2021) at the Indoor World Championships.
He was the European indoor champion in Torun in 2021 and silver in Istanbul in 2023. Outdoors he became European champion in Moscow in 2022 and last year, in the continental event in Rome, he was the protagonist of a fantastic duel with his former compatriot (naturalized Spanish) Jordan Alejandro Diaz Fortun: Pichardo came in second, but was once again able to surpass 18 meters (18.04). He holds the national records of Cuba (18.08) and Portugal (18.04) and in 2024 he also won the Wanda Diamond League for the third time. After participating in the Oslo stage of the Wanda Diamond League, Pichardo will make his third competitive outing of the season in San Vendemiano, with the aim of achieving a prestigious result.
Pichardo will also speak at the official presentation of the meeting, which will be held on Monday 16 June, at 11, in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of San Vendemiano.
The 5th ATL-Etica International Meeting – 4th ATL-Etica Youth Talent Meeting will start at 6 pm
with the youth races (boys, cadets and students categories) and continue, from 7:50 pm, with six
men’s absolute races (100, 800, 3000 steeplechase, 400 hurdles, triple jump and javelin) and as many
women’s absolute races (200, 800, 1500, 400 hurdles, pole vault and triple jump).
